Title: Sr. Accessibility Tester Location: Reston, VA-Hybrid Job Type: Long term Contract Job Description: We are looking for a Senior Accessibility Automation Tester to support accessibility compliance across web and mobile applications. This role requires strong hands-on experience with assistive technologies, accessibility standards, and automation tools. Candidates must be located in the DC/Reston area and available for onsite work. Key Responsibilities: • Analyze user stories and acceptance criteria; create in-sprint automated accessibility test scripts • Develop and execute automation scripts using tools like WAVE, Axe, and CCA for WCAG 2.0/2.1 (Level A & AA) compliance • Perform accessibility testing using screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, Android TalkBack) • Test web, mobile (Android/iOS), and documents (PDF, Excel, Word) for accessibility compliance • Identify, analyze, and report defects using JIRA • Prepare test strategies, test plans, and detailed test cases • Collaborate with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to recommend accessibility solutions • Participate in sprint meetings, walkthroughs, and status reviews • Support change management and system enhancement requests Required Skills & Qualifications: • 5-8 years of experience in Accessibility Testing • 3+ years hands-on experience with assistive technologies • Strong knowledge of WCAG 2.0/2.1, Section 508, ADA • Expertise in Keyboard accessibility, Screen Readers, and Document accessibility • Experience testing mobile applications for accessibility • Hands-on experience with accessibility automation tools (WAVE, Axe, CCA) • Working knowledge of HTML5, CSS, JavaScript (coding background is a plus) • Experience with JIRA and Confluence • Understanding of WAI-ARIA usage and limitations • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally • Passion and empathy for improving digital experiences for users with disabilities Nice to Have: • Experience in the Healthcare domain • Exposure to Selenium, Cucumber, BDD • Knowledge of mobile test automation • Experience working with enterprise-scale web applications
