Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related discipline. Two (2) years of full-time experience performing informatics-related work. Experience using EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Experience using Python, SQL, and data analytics tools.
Master's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related discipline. Experience using Smartsheet, SharePoint, and/or collaboration tools (Teams, Zoom).
The Clinical Transformation Analyst leverages their expertise in health informatics and project coordination to collaborate with and support clinicians, nurses, informatics, and research professionals in designing, implementing, and optimizing clinical applications and workflows that enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
This role integrates health sciences, data analytics, and information systems to support clinical practice through improved documentation, AI process automation, and technology adoption. The analyst ensures all systems and workflows align with evidence-based best practices, regulatory standards, patient safety initiatives, and quality improvement goals. Support the adoption of evidence-based guidelines, data-driven decision tools, AI integrations, and automation technologies in daily clinical operations.
• Facilitate end-user training, readiness assessments, and knowledge transfer to promote successful implementation of new systems and processes.
• Prepare post-implementation evaluations, including reports and lessons learned, to guide ongoing improvement efforts.
• Perform workflow analysis and documentation using tools such as Visio to map current processes and create optimized future-state designs.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams, including clinicians, nurses, and informatics staff, to identify workflow gaps and design improvements that reflect real-world feedback and practice needs.
• Promote innovation and organizational transformation through clear communication and effective change-management practices; Distinguish between workflow, system, and training-related issues; Assist with data analytics and visualization, leveraging SQL or Python, to support project prioritization and clinical decision-making.
• Other projects assigned.
The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. The incumbent must be willing to work and travel between the Westbury and Commack clinic locations. Occasional Evenings and Saturdays will be required.
