Our client, an investment firm, is seeking a Data Product Analyst to join their team in Los Angeles, CA!
Data Dictionary Management: Develop, maintain, and update a Comprehensive Data Dictionary, ensuring all critical attributes across client's data ecosystem are defined and standardized.
• Conceptual Data Model Ownership: Continuously refine client's Conceptual Data Model, ensuring their key data domains and entities and their interconnectivity are captured.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate closely with business data owners, end-users, and other stakeholders to understand data needs, challenges, and objectives.
• Data Analysis: Analyze existing data sources and workflows to identify gaps, redundancies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Create clear and detailed documentation of data requirements, including data definitions, sources, formats, and relationships, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Provide ongoing support and training to business users on the use of the Data Dictionary and Conceptual Data Model.
• Develop detailed documentation, including process flows, data models, data dictionaries, use cases, technical requirements, and user stories, ensuring clarity for development teams and stakeholders.
• Develop data quality guidelines and best practices for end users to reduce the likelihood of future issues.
• Data Governance: Champion data governance efforts, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a Technology and/or Finance related concentration.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data management, business analysis, transformation consulting, or a related role, preferably within the asset management industry.
• Asset Management Expertise: In-depth knowledge of key business functions within the asset management industry (e.g., Fund Accounting, Middle Office, Client Services, etc.). Familiarity with the alternative asset management space and functions specific to private investments is a plus.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with data modeling tools, SQL, data management software, data warehousing concepts, and business intelligence tools.
Requires minimal supervision; communicates effectively with other project team members.
• Good knowledge of Project and Program Management practices, processes and tools.
• Interpersonal skills to influence and spur change, facilitate and enhance performance within a cross - functional environment.
• Takes steps to preserve the high confidentiality of strategic business data.
