Job Title: Senior Data Analyst (AWS & QuickSight) - Contractor Location: 100% Remote (EST hours) - NY/NJ locals preferred Contract: 6 months with potential extension Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst to support analytics and reporting for our AI and Generative AI solutions team. This role is ideal for someone who is technically strong, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to operate independently in a fast-paced environment where data quality and accuracy are essential. The analyst will define, validate, and deliver data requirements to enable usage and performance dashboards in Amazon QuickSight, using data from AWS Aurora, DynamoDB, and Athena. The role requires comfort with data architecture discovery, identifying appropriate fields and tables, and partnering with engineering teams to ensure end-to-end data integrity without requiring step-by-step guidance. This is a remote, full-time contract role (9 AM-5 PM EDT). Responsibilities

• Translate business and analytics needs into structured requirements documents for QuickSight dashboards and reports.
• Independently identify source data tables, fields, and relationships across Aurora, DynamoDB, and Athena.
• Write, optimize, and validate SQL queries for data extraction and transformation.
• Perform data validation and QA to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency across data sources.
• Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and AI platform teams to define KPIs and metrics for usage, adoption, and performance.
• Develop thorough documentation and data dictionaries for reproducibility and smooth handoff.
• Provide timely status updates, participate in daily standups, and meet deadlines with minimal oversight.
• Offer insights on data patterns and anomalies to improve AI and agentic systems reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on data analytics experience, with the ability to work independently on discovery and requirements definition.
• Experience creating clear, compelling dashboards for data visualization.
• Expert-level SQL with experience querying AWS Aurora, DynamoDB, and Athena.
• Experience working with complex data models, including joins, foreign keys, and parent-child relationships in SQL databases.
• Ability to collaborate with developers to request database views or modifications for reporting needs.
• Experience supporting business users in self-service analytics within AWS, including user management and troubleshooting access issues.
• Proven experience designing or supporting dashboards in Amazon QuickSight (or similar BI tools).
• Strong skills in data validation, QA, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to translate business goals into precise technical data requirements.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills, with the ability to provide clear updates and proactively escalate issues.
• Experience in AI, machine learning, or digital product analytics environments preferred.
• Comfortable working across time zones and managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
