The anticipated salary range for this role is between $82,000.00 and $140,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. Role Description We are hiring a candidate to join the Portfolio Management Group (PMG) analytics team in the Americas Division (AD). We are open to applicants at both the Analyst and Associate levels. Among its various responsibilities, a key role of PMG is to analyze the profitability of clients, businesses, and sectors to provide findings that inform the strategic direction of the bank. This role will be responsible for managing and enhancing the team's profitability data infrastructure while also leading projects to further our analytical capabilities. Our team is a key business partner with the front office, and as such, a portfolio analytics team member needs to clearly explain how changes in income, expense, or risk weighted assets impact profitability. Close partnership throughout Finance is essential to ensure consistent evaluation criteria and messaging. This position reports into the head of PMG analytics, within the broader Finance organization. Responsibilities
- Engage with all aspects of the PMG analytics team including data analysis, recurring data preparation, and management presentations. Independently carry out complex projects, such as scenario analysis or project management for system improvement, with minimal supervision.
- Automate essential data preparation functionality to improve speed and accuracy of production. Manage current aggregation process using Python, SQL, and other tools.
- Present profitability results to stakeholders to enhance understanding of specific clients\sectors and support strategic decision making. Track and report on key new business initiatives to ensure alignment with return expectations.
- Maintain and expand PMG dashboard framework to provide users with interactive tools for assessing client and departmental performance.
- Develop consensus with front office departments regarding aggregation of client data and foster ongoing working relationships.
- Work closely with Finance and the Global Banking Unit to improve accuracy of global profitability data and incorporate any policy/methodology changes.
- Enhance understanding of available data sources in AD to provide supplementary information that can drive process efficiency.
- Analyst: 1-2 years of work experience in data and analytics
- Associate: 3-5 years of work experience in data and analytics
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to create informative and accurate reporting
- Advanced Excel and Power Point skills with a proven capacity to develop competency in analytical tools
- Experience using Python, Tableau, SQL, and/or Alteryx.
- 3-5 years of work experience in data and analytics in corporate banking
- Experience with independent project management partnering with multiple stakeholders
- Track record of driving creative technical solutions with IT to solve business problems
- Knowledge of financial regulations (Basel III) and capital allocation models
