Peraton is currently seeking to hire a Cybersecurity Engineer - VMware Systems Architect.
Peraton is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer Manager with 10+ years of VMware expertise to support the research, testing, and development of advanced military systems. In this role, you will help design, secure, and modernize missioncritical systems that directly support national defense.
Analyze cybersecurity risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Conduct Testing & Evaluation (T&E) to validate system security.
• Maintain cybersecurity controls throughout the system lifecycle.
• Implement and enforce security controls across networks, hardware, and software.
• Provide threat intelligence insights and stay current on emerging threats.
• Lead system architecture design, modeling, integration, and testing.
• Architect, configure, optimize, and troubleshoot VMware environments including ESXi 7/8, vCenter, and Horizon VDI. You must have extensive hands-on experience with the VMware ESX Family, including ESXi, vCenter, and VMware Horizon VDI and a combined 10-years of full-time professional experience across: System hardening against cyber threats; Networking and virtualization technologies; Cybersecurity frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK or MITRE D3FEND; Threat intelligence and identifying emerging threats; Remediation of vulnerabilities, including vendor patching on Linux and Windows; Designing, implementing, configuring, and enforcing security controls across networks, hardware, and software.
Extensive hands-on experience with the VMware ESX Family, including ESXi, vCenter, and VMware Horizon VDI
• Combined 10 years of full-time professional experience across:
- System hardening against cyber threats.
- Networking and virtualization technologies.
- Cybersecurity frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK or MITRE D3FEND.
- Threat intelligence and identifying emerging threats.
- Remediation of vulnerabilities, including vendor patching on Linux and Windows.
- Designing, implementing, configuring, and enforcing security controls across networks, hardware, and software.
Active Top Secret clearance or higher, with SCI eligibility
• Passport, or ability to obtain one prior to start
• Travel may be required up to 10%
Bachelor of Science in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.

$Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
