As a Senior Software Engineer inside the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Media Services team, you will have the opportunity to solve challenging technical problems and contribute to the development, delivery and operation of cloud services driving novel consumer video applications. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with clear experience in the development, delivery and operation of enterprise-class cloud services. Prior experience and domain knowledge in media services (specifically video) is a big plus. The Senior Software Engineer is an individual contributor role that requires a proven track record of success and technical depth as a software developer. We seek individuals with evolved soft skills in addition to strong technical acumen. Responsibilities Responsibilities
- Design, implement, validate, and document components of a distributed, service-oriented architecture. Ensure proper focus on availability, scalability, observability, and testability.
- Ensure automated and reliable deployment of services end-to-end including foundational infrastructure and required dependencies.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry best practices, ensuring compliance and driving innovation within the organization.
- Launch new cloud services and establish operational excellence.
- Collaborate with architects and technical leads to refine, realize, and achieve the technical vision of the team.
- Work effectively across geographically distributed engineering teams.
- Ensure compliance with software development standards, processes and best practices.
- BS/CS Computer Science or related field and 3+ years software development experience using modern programming languages. Prior experience with Java and/or Go is a big plus.
- Proven experience in large-scale software development, specifically for cloud services and distributed systems. Any relevant background in video streaming, real-time communications, or social networking systems is a big plus.
- Experience in development, deployment, and operations of highly scalable cloud microservices using Kubernetes.
- A fundamental understanding of cloud infrastructure (compute, identity, network, storage) and deployment automation tools (e.g. Terraform, Chef, Puppet, or similar).
- Familiarity building, running, and maintaining highly available services in a DevOps environment with established processes for maintaining quality, including failure root cause analysis.

- Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
