Performs daily production, serving, and cleaning duties for the school lunch program. Meets and greets students and assists them with making healthy menu selections. Performs food service production and operational tasks as assigned by the school's site manager.
• Assists in the preparation of foods using standardized recipes and menus, and portion controls in accordance with work production standards.
• Sets up food on serving lines and/or steam tables and serves meals or meal components.
• Conducts the cashiering function in accordance with established financial and accountability procedures.
• Cleans and sanitizes all equipment and work areas including the kitchen floors, walk-in refrigerators, and storage areas. Follows established Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) procedures and food safety standards.
• Properly stores food and supplies.
• Transports food from the base complex to the receiving school, if required.
• Reports to any site in the complex as assigned.
Education, Training, and Experience:
High school diploma or appropriate equivalent is preferred.
One (1) year experience in the field of food service is preferred.
Possession of a valid class C Maryland driver's license or an equivalent preferred.
Knowledge of school system's safety, procedural, and policy guidelines, and applicable safety regulations.
Ability to understand and speak English.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
The work of this class is performed in a kitchen and cafeteria environment. Annual completion of continuing education/training in accordance with the U.SALARY: $15.15 - $20.74 (Hourly Base Pay Scale for All Employees Represented by AFSCME)
