Manufacturing Supervisor Job at Akkodis in Fort Lauderdale

Akkodis is hiring a Manufacturing Supervisor for a direct hire role in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Ideal candidates will have leadership experience in a hands-on assembly manufacturing setting.

Must be able to manage a team of 8–10, adapt to changing priorities, and lead from the floor. Experience with HVAC components is a strong plus.

Pay Range: $85,000 - $100,000/annum (6-12% Bonus) + benefits (The pay range may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors)

Shift:2nd Shift – 3:30 pm - 11:00 pm EST

• Plant is open 24 hours Mon - Fri (Must be flexible and available to cover if needed or switch shifts)
• Training for 1-2 months on 1st shift, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm.
• Need to work with a diverse team. They have 26 different cultures.
• No job hoppers.

Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for providing operational leadership to production personnel and processes within the manufacturing areas of Florida Heat Pump (FHP) Water Source Heat Pumps. Oversees activities including, but not limited to, product assembly, bending, brazing, welding, soldering, fastening, testing, packaging, and product auditing.

• Lead manufacturing operations and improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve manufacturing process issues using structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D).
• Plan, hire, onboard, and train associates to meet production demands.
• Organize and prioritize tasks and projects for self and direct reports.
• Implement and sustain Lean Manufacturing and Value Stream Management practices, including standard work, material flow optimization, ergonomic improvements, production efficiency, and 5S standards, while ensuring compliance with internal quality system requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of 5+ years of management or supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Proven experience handling real-world, day-to-day manufacturing challenges in a non-ideal environment; must be adaptable and resilient.
• Demonstrated ability to identify issues, think systematically, and propose practical, sustainable process improvements.
• Hands-on leader with direct experience building or producing physical products; this is a non-automated manufacturing environment.
• Strong respect for existing processes and teams, with the ability to improve without arrogance or disruption.
• Highly people-centric leadership style, with a focus on coaching, collaboration, and team development.
• Warehouse-only supervisory experience is not sufficient for this role; candidates must come from a true manufacturing or production background (e.g., Manufacturing Manager, Production Manager, or Production Supervisor).
