We are located just 10 minutes from South County and 20 minutes from Downtown STL in beautiful Columbia, IL.

Our exciting campus is home to the Main Street Abbey event and wedding venue, the Principal Hotel, Graphite Restaurant and coming soon Home Court Sports Bar.

Description Graphite is searching for a full-time experienced Sautee Cook, anticipated opening date mid January2024. Looking for motivated individuals with strong work ethic and the ability to adapt with an eagerness to learn. Key Responsibilities:

Cooking & Sautéing: Prepare and cook proteins, vegetables, sauces, and other menu items using the sautéing technique. Ensure each dish is cooked to the correct level of doneness and presented beautifully, adhering to the restaurant’s standards.

Recipe Adherence & Consistency: Follow recipes and plating guidelines to ensure consistency in every dish. Assist in creating and maintaining the restaurant's menu and seasonal specials.

Kitchen Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient service. Communicate effectively with waitstaff regarding dish timing, special requests, and order status.

Food Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sauté station. Follow food safety regulations and sanitation procedures to ensure a safe and hygienic kitchen environment.

Quality Control: Taste and season dishes to ensure the highest quality. Monitor cooking times and temperatures to maintain consistent results.

Qualifications:

Experience: Previous experience as a sauté cook, line cook, or in a similar role within a fine dining or upscale restaurant is preferred. Strong knowledge of sautéing techniques, sauces, and ingredient preparation.

Skills: Excellent understanding of culinary techniques and food safety standards. Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Certifications: Food safety certifications (e.g., ServSafe) are preferred.

Compensation

$20-22 /hour based on experience
