Job Summary:
Vista Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and skilled
Interventional Radiology (IR) Nurse
to join our team. This role is essential in providing high-quality patient care before, during, and after interventional radiology procedures. The IR Nurse will work closely with radiologists, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes. Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and monitoring of patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures. Provide pre-procedure patient education, assessment, and consent verification. Administer moderate sedation and monitor patients' vital signs during procedures. Collaborate with the radiology team to ensure efficient workflow and patient safety. Maintain a sterile field and ensure compliance with infection control standards. Assist with post-procedure care, including patient recovery and discharge instructions. Respond to emergency situations as needed, including contrast reactions and sedation-related complications. Document all patient care activities accurately and in compliance with hospital policies. Qualifications:
Current
Registered Nurse (RN) license
in the state of Illinois. Minimum of 2 years of experience
in critical care, emergency nursing, or interventional radiology preferred. BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
required (or ability to obtain upon hire). Experience with moderate sedation and hemodynamic monitoring preferred. Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
