General Summary of Position MedStar Health is looking for an MRI Technologist to join our team at Southern Maryland! Primary Duties: Conducts patient interviews toidentifycontraindicated implants, foreignbodies,and other medical conditionsofconcern.Identifiesand performsappropriateexaminationsbased on patient history.
Verifies prescription and protocol.Usesappropriate imagingparameters. Injects contrast based on patient weight after verifying the patients renal function status. Verifies image quality prior toendingthe examination.Appropriately documents examination. Verifies theexaminationsis correct in both Cerner, PACS,Pen RadandDyna CAD(when applicable).
Assistsin organizing andmaintaininginventory of supplies. Ensures the work area ismaintainedat a high state of cleanliness.Promptly preparesfilmsand CDs upon request.
Assistswith protocol development and implementation.Assistswith the training of new personnel and Radiology School studentsregardingprocedures, imagingprotocolsand department policy.
Collects quality control data formanager, such as film usage, equipment problems, etc. 9. Completes all required information system functions toassureproper patient information, billing,examination,and other necessary functions.
Qualifications: Associatedegree or formal training in an American Medical Association accredited school of Radiologic Technology/Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
Job-related experience and/or successful completion of a formalMRIeducational training program.
Successful Completion of either the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) MRI examination or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) examination within one year of date of hire for unregisteredtechnologists.
BLS (Basic Life Support).
This position has a hiring range of : USD $35.68 - USD $64.71 /Hr.
