(Hybrid) Description Are you an electrical design professional who wants to advance their technical skills while providing top-notch customer service? DMC's Electrical Engineer will be responsible for creating panel drawings, including BOM, layout, and component sizing, generating IO lists, designing power distribution, and creating loop drawings for field instruments. They will be required to understand and design within various standards such as UL and IEC. Responsibilities Understands automation and electrical components to meet customer specifications, application requirements, and industrial standards Creates custom control panel layouts and bills of materials Designs wiring diagrams, schematic diagrams, and one-line power distribution drawings Performs IO checkout and validation Performs enclosure FLA and heat dissipation calculations Creates and maintains AutoCAD Electrical templates, blocks and symbols library Develops BOM's, loop drawings, one-line drawings, PDF drawings utilizing cross reference clicking, panel layouts and size power components Organizes and maintains project drawings and technical information Ability to manage time amongst multiple projects Collaborate with the sales team on incoming projects Occasional travel Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering, or related field/relevant experience Minimum GPA of 3.4 5+ years of experience in industrial automation Proficiency with electrical design software (preferably AutoCAD Electrical) and ability to design according to UL, IEC, and NEC standards (including certifications) Strong understanding of automation equipment (PLCs, IO Modules, VFDs, Motors, etc.), electrical components (breakers, fuses, VFDs, disconnects, etc.), panel sizing and heating/cooling requirements Working knowledge of industrial communication networks and industrial communication network design Knowledge on programing or configuring PLCs, HMIs, or SCADA systems Familiarity with safety PLC wiring and National Instruments or DAQ equipment Ability to read and understand P&ID drawings as well as PL and SIL electrical design requirements Knowledge of high voltage and high-power component design (both AC and DC) Familiarity with safety practices such as FOD, ESD protection and quality control standards (ISO9001 and AS9100) Proficiency with basic mechanical CAD, software testing, PCB design (including developing PCB schematics) and Microsoft Excel ITAR Requirements To conform to U.S. Government commercial space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3), applicants for employment at DMC must be a U.S. citizen or national, lawfully admitted for permanent residence into the U.S. (i.e. current green card holder), or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum under 8 U.S.C. § 1157-1158. Compensation: Starting compensation is based on industry and location standards. Engineer Level II (3-5+ years relevant experience): $95,000 - $110,000 5+ years of experience: Compensation is based on experience, industry and location standards. Additional Information:
