POSITION OVERVIEW The
Estimator
will support the preconstruction team by preparing detailed and conceptual estimates for ground-up and interior projects across a diverse portfolio. This role is critical to ensuring accurate cost modeling, competitive bids, and smooth transitions from preconstruction into operations.Projects typically range from
$20M – $150M , with exposure to negotiated and competitive pursuits.
SELECT RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates at conceptual, schematic, DD, and GMP stages Analyze drawings, specifications, and addenda to identify scope, risk, and cost impacts Assist with subcontractor outreach, bid solicitation, scope review, and bid leveling Participate in value engineering exercises and cost-saving initiatives Support senior estimators and preconstruction managers during pursuits and presentations Maintain and update cost databases and historical pricing Coordinate with project teams to ensure alignment between estimates and execution plans Assist in buyout support and transition of estimates to operations teams Track scope changes and pricing throughout the preconstruction phase
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, xsgimln or related discipline 3–7 years
of experience in estimating or preconstruction with a commercial GC Experience estimating projects
$20M+ , with exposure to larger projects preferred Background in
commercial, data center, multifamily, higher education, and/or federal
construction Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Effective communication skills with internal teams and trade partners Proficiency with industry-standard estimating and takeoff software (Sage, DESTINI, WinEst, Bluebeam, OST, PlanSwift, Excel, Procore)
