Thornhill Properties, Inc. is seeking an experienced, hands-on
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
to lead the financial operations of a growing real estate ownership and property management company.
The CFO will partner closely with ownership and senior leadership while maintaining direct oversight of accounting, reporting, cash flow, budgeting, and risk management across a diverse portfolio of commercial and residential properties and third-party management relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic financial leadership and serve as a key advisor to ownership and senior management Oversee all accounting and financial reporting at both the property and entity level Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow across the entire portfolio Support acquisitions, dispositions, refinances, and capital improvement projects through financial modeling and analysis Oversee banking relationships, loan compliance, debt service, and lender reporting Ensure accurate owner reporting, management fee billing, and strong internal financial controls Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team Evaluate and improve financial systems, reporting tools, and internal processes (AppFolio experience strongly preferred) Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax requirements, and regulatory standards
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree a plus) Certifications:
CPA license strongly preferred Experience:
10+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience Strong background in real estate, property management, or real estate investment accounting Experience managing multi-entity structures, partnerships, and complex portfolios xsgimln Demonstrated ability to be both strategic and hands-on High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills Experience working in a growing or entrepreneurial organization
