Key Responsibilities

Analyze daily, weekly, and monthly labor productivity for all departments (Rooms, Food & Beverage, Banquets, Engineering, Security, and Administration).

Monitor labor costs against budget, forecast, and prior year; identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.

Partner with department heads to develop efficient staffing models and productivity standards aligned with occupancy, business mix, and service levels.

Prepare and distribute productivity reports, labor dashboards, and variance analyses for hotel leadership.

Support annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes with a focus on labor planning and operational efficiency.

Review schedules and staffing plans to ensure compliance with union contracts, California labor laws, and Hyatt policies.

Assist in developing and maintaining productivity metrics such as hours per occupied room (HPOR), covers per labor hour, and banquet productivity ratios.

Collaborate with Human Resources and Payroll to ensure accurate labor reporting, timekeeping, and wage compliance.

Support department leaders in identifying cost‑saving initiatives while preserving guest satisfaction and colleague engagement.

Participate in productivity and labor strategy meetings; present findings and recommendations to executive leadership.

Assist with audits related to labor, payroll, and productivity controls.

Support special projects, system implementations, and process improvements related to finance and operations.

This position has a salary compensation ranging from

$70,600–$88,100 .

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.

3‑5 years of finance, accounting, or productivity/labor analysis experience, preferably in hospitality or a unionized environment.

Strong understanding of hotel operations and departmental labor drivers.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis).

Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to work cross‑functionally with department leaders and senior management.

Strong knowledge of labor cost controls, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Experience in a large convention hotel or luxury hotel environment.

Familiarity with hotel systems such as Kronos/UKG, Oracle, BirchStreet, OPERA, or similar platforms.

Knowledge of California labor laws and union agreements.

CPA, CMA, or hospitality finance certification a plus.
