Overview
Lewis Brisbois, a national full service AmLaw 100 law firm, is seeking a Director of I.T. The IT Director serves as a senior technology leader responsible for assisting in driving the firm’s technology strategy, operational excellence, and digital transformation initiatives. This role partners closely with the CIO, IT management team and personnel, other firm leadership, and administrative departments to ensure that technology solutions are secure, reliable, innovative, and aligned with the firm’s business objectives. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in professional services, along with strong leadership, communication, and change management capabilities. This role is hybrid and will report directly to the Chief Information Officer. Responsibilities
Essential Functions of the Job: The following list of essential functions is not exhaustive, and other duties may be assigned in addition to those listed. The items listed are considered daily functions associated with this position. Partner with the CIO to define and execute the firm’s technology roadmap, including infrastructure modernization, information governance, cybersecurity, and data initiatives. Lead IT governance processes, ensuring alignment between technology investments and firm priorities. Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, practice groups, and administrative departments to ensure operational excellence. Work with the CIO in providing direction and oversight of day-to-day IT operations, including service delivery, infrastructure, applications, security, and support. Ensure high availability and performance of mission critical systems used by the firm. Establish and monitor KPIs, SLAs, and operational metrics to ensure consistent service quality across all offices. Along with the Director of Information Security, help lead incident response, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity initiatives. Assist the CIO in managing assigned personnel. Qualifications
Minimum Requirements: 7+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, ideally within a large law firm or professional services organization. Demonstrated success managing enterprise scale infrastructure, applications, and support operations. Strong understanding of legal industry systems (e.g., iManage/NetDocuments, Intapp, Aderant, ServiceNow, Microsoft 365, Azure). Proven ability to lead teams across multiple locations. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non technical audiences. Experience managing complex budgets, vendor relationships, and multi year technology programs. Experience with cloud migrations, data governance, and cybersecurity frameworks. Background in AI/ML adoption, workflow automation, or advanced analytics. PMP, ITIL, CISSP, CISM, or similar certifications strongly preferred.
