THE OPPORTUNITY The UGDSB is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team for a

temporary full‑time

opportunity in the capacity of

Administrative Assistant to Vice Principal .

Location:

Wellington Heights Secondary School

FTE and Hours:

1.0 FTE; 35 hours per week

Hourly Pay Rate:

$30.96 - $37.66 per hour; wage rate effective September 1 2025

Reporting to the Secondary Principal, the responsibilities of the

Administrative Assistant to Vice Principal

are as follows:

RESPONSIBILITIES The function of this position is to perform secretarial and clerical duties in the office of a Secondary School. Specific responsibilities include:

Student attendance processing and field trip paperwork

Staff absences, SDS, SmartFind and timesheets

Student Edsembli database

Formatting and running Edsembli reports and report cards

Assist in the completion of monthly enrolment reports

Duties assigned by the Office Co‑ordinator‑Secondary, Principal and/or Vice‑Principal

Other Duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS Applicants must have an O.S.S.D (Ontario Secondary School Diploma) or equivalent, including or supplemented by courses in keyboarding (minimum 50 words per minute), as well as proficiency in spelling, punctuation and grammatical usage. Applicants should have good organizational skills and the ability to accept responsibility and to work independently. Excellent word processing skills and expertise in the use of Word, Edsembli and SDS systems are required. The ability to handle contacts on the telephone and in person with tact and courtesy is essential.
