Pathology Assistant (PA-ASCP)
Location: Pittsfield, MA Assignment Type: Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Hours: 8 hours/day
Key Responsibilities: Perform gross examination and dissection of surgical pathology specimens Assist with postmortem examinations as directed by pathologists Ensure accurate collection, labeling, and documentation of specimens Organize, schedule, and prioritize workload independently Maintain efficiency and accuracy during extended periods of focused work Operate and document within HIS/LIS systems and laboratory instrumentation Adapt to urgent or emergent situations, including schedule changes if required
Schedule & Coverage: Weekends: None Holidays: Coverage if required On-Call: None
Required Qualifications: PA-ASCP certification required (equivalent certifications not accepted) Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s degree preferred) Minimum of 2 years experience as a Pathology Assistant Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work accurately under pressure Experience with HIS/LIS systems Traveler must have their own vehicle
