Northwest Eye Physicians is seeking a medically focused
Optometrist (OD)
to join our established hybrid MD/OD practice. This is a
full-time
position in a privately owned practice that has proudly served the Arlington Heights community for over
50 years .
Our practice is unique— one of very few in the state with an on-site surgical suite —and is built on a collaborative team of physicians and staff dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care.
Position Overview
The Optometrist will play a key role in comprehensive eye care, surgical co-management, and patient education within our medical optometry setting.
Key Responsibilities Perform comprehensive eye exams using optometric equipment and diagnostic interpretation Prescribe glasses and contact lenses Initiate surgical consults by educating patients on available procedures and referring to the appropriate MD Assist with postoperative care and follow-up for surgical patients Provide excellent customer service and patient-centered care Participate in a rotating on-call schedule with other physicians ( no hospital call required )
Qualifications
5+ years of optometry experience Active Illinois state optometry license Experience in a hybrid MD/OD practice or surgical setting preferred Medical residency preferred Strong interest in growing a patient base through networking and positive patient experiences
