Medical Director - Utilization Management (Remote)
Contract-to-Hire | 6 Months+ | W2 | Multiple Openings

Work Schedule & Employment Details Engagement:
6-month contract with strong potential for hire Start Date:
Rolling Schedule:
40 hours per week with rotating weekend coverage; participation in weekend work on a rotational basis to ensure timely case decisioning Weekend Coverage:
Rotational participation to ensure timely case decisioning Worker Type:
W2
What You’ll Do: As a Medical Director, you will: Conduct timely, compliant medical necessity reviews for inpatient services Synthesize complex hospital-based scenarios and provide expert determinations Collaborate with treating providers to gather additional clinical information Communicate determinations clearly and professionally in writing and verbally Maintain accountability for productivity, quality, and compliance metrics Adapt to evolving workflows, tools, and utilization management practices Support a culture of integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement You’ll start with structured, mentored onboarding, then operate with autonomy and access to peer support.
What We’re Looking For: MD or DO degree 5+ years post-residency/fellowship clinical experience, preferably inpatient and/or Medicare populations (65+ or disabled) Current, ongoing ABMS Board Certification in a relevant specialty Active, unrestricted medical license (with willingness to obtain additional licensure if needed) Strong verbal, written, analytical, and clinical judgment skills Proven ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
