The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the planning, coordination, and execution of multifamily construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role works closely with the Project Manager, superintendents, subcontractors, and ownership to help ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Project Support & Coordination Assist the Project Manager with day-to-day project management activities Help track project schedules, budgets, and cost reports Coordinate RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and change orders Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation Budget & Cost Control Assist with buyout, subcontractor agreements, and purchase orders Track committed costs, change orders, and pay applications Help review and verify subcontractor invoices and lien waivers Schedule & Field Coordination Work with superintendents to support construction sequencing and schedules Assist with weekly progress reporting and meeting minutes Help coordinate inspections, material deliveries, and subcontractor activities Quality & Safety Support quality control processes and punch list management Assist in ensuring compliance with safety programs and site requirements Closeout Help manage project closeout activities, including as-builts, warranties, and O&M manuals Support final inspections and turnover to ownership/property management Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) 1–3+ years of experience in construction, preferably multifamily or residential Basic understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contracts Strong organizational and communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Preferred Experience with multifamily, xsgimln mixed-use, or large residential projects Familiarity with project management software (Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera, MS Project, etc.) Knowledge of subcontractor buyout and cost tracking Skills & Competencies Detail-oriented with strong follow-through Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment Team-oriented with a proactive mindset Strong written and verbal communication skills Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Bonus potential Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays Career growth and development opportunities
