Job Description: A construction management and general contractor is seeking a Carpenter Foreman for a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity in the Indianapolis area. The ideal candidate will bring with them the safety requirements associated with commercial construction along with a comprehensive understanding of procedures, techniques, tools, equipment, materials, specifications, quality and cost control measures. In addition, this Foreman will need to have experience effectively leading teams as they will be managing carpenters, labors, and equipment operators for small to large budget commercial construction projects. Types of project work could include formwork, interior fit-out, installation of doors and hardware, wall protection, bump rails, roof blocking, etc. They are seeking someone long term so reliability, attendance, and willingness to drive to sites within a 50-mile radius of Indianapolis is a top priority. MUST HAVES: 10+ years of experience in carpenter construction OSHA-30 (Able to get before starting) Experience as a foreman or superintendent managing carpenters, laborers, and/or equipment operators (includes keeping projects on schedule and within approved budget) Knowledge of power tools & equipment (skid steers, cranes, excavators); includes ordering and tracking materials Ability to read blueprints, maintain daily logs of work progress, and tracking labor hours xsgimln
PLUSSES Autodesk Experience Key Responsibilities Comfortable driving to project sites in own vehicle for duration of the contract (up to 50 miles) Parking isn't fully covered but their is a supplement Problem Solving Skills: keeping project on track when their is material shortages or design conflicts Task Coordination: working with carpenters to sequence task order and priority Organized: 80% performing carpentry tasks, 20% supervising, planning, and coordinating
