POSITION OVERVIEW A private, multi-generational
family office
is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking
Controller
to lead all aspects of financial strategy and operations across a network of entities and individuals. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with the head of the family office and provide direct support to the principal and extended family, overseeing financial affairs for both personal and investment-related vehicles including trusts, foundations, LLCs, partnerships, and estates. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical excellence, sound judgment, and a proactive leadership style suited for a dynamic family environment with significant investment activity. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership & Team Oversight : Manage a lean, high-performing internal accounting team and coordinate external partnerships with legal, tax, banking, and investment advisors Liquidity & Cash Flow : Lead short- and long-term cash management, capital allocation, and liquidity planning across diverse entities Financial Reporting : Prepare consolidated reporting and performance metrics for the family’s investments and businesses, including managing audits and forecasts Tax Strategy & Compliance : Oversee complex tax filings; stay ahead of evolving tax and estate planning regulations across jurisdictions Governance & Risk : Ensure legal compliance, manage insurance coverage, and monitor any potential conflicts related to philanthropic, political, or personal activities Trusts & Estates : Coordinate trust and estate matters to support legacy planning, minimize tax exposure, and ensure fiduciary compliance Investment Stewardship : Provide financial modeling, due diligence, and tracking for private and public investments; assess performance and risk exposures across asset classes IDEAL PROFILE CPA required; CFA or MBA preferred 10–15 years of senior-level experience in family office finance, private wealth, or investment-related accounting Proven expertise in managing complex, multi-entity structures with both direct and alternative investments Strong understanding of tax strategy and estate planning High degree of discretion, with demonstrated ability to earn trust in confidential, high-touch environments Sharp analytical and communication skills, with an ability to distill complexity into actionable insight
