Welder
As a welder, you will work with hard steel materials, primarily performing MIG, pulse-style hardwire.045 welding. This position demands a high level of skill, as you will be engaging in ultra-sonic welding on materials ranging from 3/8" to 4" thick. You will be responsible for your own setups, layouts of fixtures, and fit-ups in a heat treat welding environment. Over time, you will receive certification and training to weld all components of booms and other parts for concrete boom trucks. All welding work is X-rayed, certified, and requires meticulous attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Perform MIG, pulse-style hardwire.045 welding on hard steel materials.
- Engage in ultra-sonic welding on materials ranging from 3/8" to 4" thick.
- Conduct own setups, layouts of fixtures, and fit-ups.
- Work in a heat treat welding environment.
- Eventually get certified and trained to weld components of concrete boom trucks.
- Ensure all welding is X-rayed and certified.
Essential Skills
- 3+ years of MIG welding on heavy gauge material.
- Experience with hardwire.045 pulse-style MIG welding.
- 1+ year of experience reading blueprints.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with structural steel fabrication.
- TIG welding skills.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.

Work Environment
The work environment is laid-back yet team-oriented, with a focus on independent work. The shop is clean and organized, with a quieter atmosphere compared to other welding environments. Work hours are from 6am to 2:30pm, Monday to Friday, with heavy overtime available, often from 5am to 3:30pm. The facility includes about 35 people, and features heavy cranes and large machinery in motion.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
