Position Title: Human Resources Generalist

Reporting To: Vice President of People

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

Our experienced Support Center team assists dentists with management of non-clinical staffing and human resources, finance and payroll administration, marketing, payor relations, supplies and capital equipment procurement, as well as information systems. Job Summary

Premier Dentist Partners (PDP) is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support the day-to-day execution of core HR functions while helping build scalable people practices that support growth, compliance, and employee experience.

The Human Resources Generalist will serve as a trusted partner to leaders, managers, and employees across our support center and field operations. This role is ideal for a hands-on HR professional who thrives in a dynamic, high-growth environment and is eager to help shape and mature HR processes within a PE-backed organization.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee HR questions related to policies, benefits, leave, performance, and general employment matters
  • Partner with managers to address employee relations issues, performance concerns, and corrective action processes
  • Support investigations and documentation related to employee relations matters, escalating as appropriate
  • Provide consistent guidance aligned with company policies, values, and applicable employment laws
  • Support onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle processes to ensure a smooth and compliant experience
  • Maintain accurate employee records within HRIS and personnel files
  • Assist with compliance across multiple states, including employment law basics, wage and hour practices, and required postings
  • Partner with payroll and benefits teams to resolve employee inquiries and ensure accurate data flow
  • Support leave of absence administration in coordination with vendors and internal stakeholders
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of HR policies, procedures, and manager resources
  • Support performance management processes, including annual reviews, goal setting, and calibration cycles
  • Contribute to employee engagement, retention, and culture initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes and improve employee experience as the organization scales
  • Partner closely with Recruiting, Operations, Finance, and Leadership to support business needs
  • Assist with special HR projects related to growth, acquisitions, or organizational changes
  • Support data tracking and reporting for HR metrics such as turnover, retention, and employee trends

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and general office systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust across all levels of the organization
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment with competing priorities
  • Solutions-oriented mindset with a desire to improve processes and employee experience

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of HR experience, preferably in a multi-site, healthcare, or PE-backed environment
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices across multiple states
  • Experience supporting both corporate and field-based employees strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems, payroll platforms, and benefits administration tools; ADP and iCIMS is a plus
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar certification preferred but not required

Work Conditions

  • Ability to maintain a 40-hour workweek; occasional extended hours may be required.
  • Ability to travel to field offices as needed (up to 20% travel commitment).
  • Prolonged sitting and computer use; ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
