Overview The Janitor/Grounds Maintenance Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment both inside and outside the facility. This role ensures buildings, common areas, and grounds are well‑kept, sanitary, and presentable for employees, visitors and guests. Responsibilities Clean and sanitize restrooms, offices, hallways, break rooms, and common areas Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish floors and surfaces Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste properly Re‑fill restroom and cleaning supplies as needed Clean windows, mirrors, and fixtures Follow established cleaning schedules and safety procedures Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply needs to supervisor Maintain exterior areas including lawns, walkways, parking lots and entryways Mow lawns, trim hedges, edge sidewalks, and remove weeds Collect litter and debris from outdoor areas Perform seasonal cleanup such as leaf or debris removal Operate basic grounds equipment such as a mower, trimmers and blowers Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Required Skills & Abilities Must be able to read and understand SOPs pertaining to facility requirements Must communicate effectively to establish good working relationships with both internal and external customers Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions and basic knowledge of general maintenance Ability to pass a background check Education & Experience Must have high school diploma or GED Must have 3+ years of experience in commercial building grounds maintenance, including grounds equipment, means and methods of grounds best practices Must have 3+ years of experience in commercial building maintenance cleaning, including cleaning equipment, chemicals, means and methods of cleaning best practices Physical Requirements Ability to safely climb and work on a 6‑foot ladder as needed Good visual and auditory acuity as well as good manual dexterity Must be able to bend, sit, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, stand, walk, and turn/pivot intermittently up to ten hours per day, five days per week (extended hours may be required as necessary) Capable of lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling or carrying over 60 lbs. from floor level to overhead position Perform office tasks using simple hand grasping, fine hand manipulation and reach, associated with assigned tasks such as paperwork, typing, and/or word processing (with computer), filing, calculating, and use of telephone See, hear, and speak with sufficient capability to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper safety conditions Exposure to cleaning chemicals, noise and weather elements Demonstrate cognitive ability to follow directions and routines, work independently with appropriate judgment, read words and numbers, concentrate, memorize, and recall, identify logical connections and determine sequence of response, and process up to three steps ahead Training Must successfully complete all departmental training and meet the requirements as part of ongoing training Seniority Level Entry level Employment Type Full‑time Job Function Management and Manufacturing Industries Pharmaceutical Manufacturing #J-18808-Ljbffr
