Position Summary We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Implant Coordinator, Days – LOH. In this role, the successful candidate will assume responsibility for inventory management of all orthopedic implants that are both consigned and non-consigned under the direction of the Inventory Manager and nursing leadership. The candidate will work collaboratively with nursing administrative staff and inventory management for all aspects related to orthopedic implants, assist in the development of appropriate controls and procedures, ensure adequate security measures for the implant room, and prepare and analyze reports for departmental operational efficiencies.

Job Responsibilities

Review in advance the surgical schedule of bookings (computer or paper) to determine implant requirements.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Provide analytical reports to the Inventory and Business Manager upon request.

Enter charges accurately and in a timely fashion for all implants used in surgery using the EMR system.

Maintain proper shelf and drawer configurations along with current par levels, item descriptions, and appropriate labeling.

Perform all inventory functions with vendor sales representatives, e.g., quarterly inventory, reconciliations, item updates, recalls, backorders, etc.

Identify and communicate any backorders, recalls, or discontinued items with the Senior Nurse Clinician and Inventory Manager.

Coordinate with the Senior Nurse Clinician the re-ordering, re-stocking, and reconciliation of discrepancies of the implants based upon established par levels.

As directed by the Senior Nurse Clinician and Inventory Manager, coordinate daily implant requirements with surgical vendors to meet the demands of the daily schedule.

Plan with the Senior Nurse Clinician implant needs for adequate stock for upcoming cases.

Initiate a tool for reconciliation ofabweáveis and used/wasted implants on required documents.

Maintain implant files along with updating prices and new items.

Maintain SMO files, packing slips, invoices, and other documents associated with total joint implant vendors.

Maintain a used and wasted implant log in the computer database.

Enforce and assure security measures for the room and drawer access.

Takes necessary action steps to ensure smooth flow of operation in the implant room.

Deliver implants to the operating room according to the daily surgical schedule.

Prepare necessary implants for the next day's cases.

Minimum Qualifications To qualify, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Two years of related healthcare experience, knowledge of anatomy and physiology, and experience with orthopedic implants and instrumentation are preferred. Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications are required. Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $48,274.09 – $68,427.24 annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range listedarp does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.
