The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise in a warehouse or distribution center. This role ensures the efficient and safe handling of goods and materials while maintaining accurate inventory levels and contributing to overall warehouse operations. Work outdoors with exposure to all weather conditions

Key Responsibilities:

Operate Forklift Equipment:

Safely operate various types of forklifts, including counterbalance, reach, and pallet jacks, to transport goods and materials within the warehouse.

Load and Unload:

Efficiently load and unload trucks and containers, ensuring that products are handled with care and placed in the correct location.

Inventory Management:

Verify order contents and maintain documentation (pick tickets, inventory count sheets). Inspect, organize, maintain, and track inventory.

Safety Compliance:

Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following proper lifting techniques.

Equipment Maintenance:

Conduct routine inspections of forklift equipment, reporting any malfunctions or maintenance needs to ensure optimal performance.

Warehouse Organization:

Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring that aisles and pathways are clear and that materials are stored properly.

Collaboration:

Work closely with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth warehouse operations and resolve any issues that arise.

Qualifications:

Experience:

Previous experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or industrial environment preferred.

Certification:

Valid forklift operator certification or license required.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects, and to operate forklifts safely in various conditions.

Skills:

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast‑paced environment.

Safety:

Knowledge of and adherence to safety standards and practices in warehouse operations.

Additional Information:

Work Environment:

This position involves working in a warehouse setting, which may include exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and potential hazards.

Schedule:

May require working flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on operational needs.

Preserve safe and clean work environment which includes cleaning and painting.

Note:

Duties, responsibilities, and activities may be modified or supplemented at the discretion of management.

Schedule & Compensation:

Monday to Friday with occasional on-call weekends.

Pay Rate: TBD
