Job Description This position is responsible for all serological Quality Control and release testing of AVS flocks and immunologic reagents produced by the Production Laboratory, as well as customer submissions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform all QC testing on serological or Tissue Culture reagents to ensure compliance with established standards and specifications.

Document inspection results by completing reports, logs, and data entry into quality databases. Identify and report any non‑conformances or deviations and assist in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.

Receive and process internal and external samples for QC testing.

Prepare reagents, solutions, or media required for QC testing.

Maintain the personal testing planner to meet all testing schedule deadlines without excessive guidance.

Maintain reference standard stock and re‑qualify standards as needed.

Maintain supplies and inventory necessary for QC testing in either Tissue Culture or Serology lab.

Assist in projects related to maintenance and improvement of laboratory quality control at management’s request.

Perform daily housekeeping of laboratory and equipment, including cleaning, disinfecting floors, waste disposal, glassware preparation, and preventative maintenance of equipment.

Communicate with other departments using Teams and other Microsoft applications.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent with 1+ years of relevant experience, or an associate’s degree or technical certification with 1+ years of relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or related discipline.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute.

Physical Demands

Stand, use hands to manipulate objects, reach with hands, and use a microscope; frequently walk, stand, and sit.

Regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds, and frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Be able to wear applicable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Required vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.

Work Environment

Regular exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and occasional proximity to moving mechanical parts.

Noise level is usually moderate.
