TEST TECHNICIAN (F9 SUBASSEMBLIES) SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform pneumatic and hydraulic acceptance (ATP) and qualification (QTP) testing of flight hardware and document results in a clear, precise and complete manner

Work with high-pressure pumps and high-pressure gases such as helium and nitrogen

Use mechanical hand tools and torque wrenches to layout, fabricate, assemble, and install experimental/production flight hardware for mock-ups, full-scale operating models, and test assemblies

Use basic and advanced electronic test equipment/software to run performance tests on hardware

Analyze and interpret test data to meet acceptance criteria established by engineering

Work with design engineers to troubleshoot failures of parts and test equipment. Repair or replace flight hardware due to engineering design changes and test failures

Responsible for preventative maintenance activities on test equipment and data acquisition systems

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalency certificate

2+ years of experience in manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, or military environments

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Experience with cryogenic pressure systems (gasses and liquids) and/or hydrostatic systems

Experience with manufacturing or testing tooling such as form blocks, drill jigs, and specialized test equipment

Capable of working with diverse electrical and computer based test equipment including LABVIEW, analog, digital and RF

Proficient in the setup and usage of high-pressure pneumatic test carts and experience with pressure systems >1,000 PSI

Excellent attention to detail

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to work the following shifts:

1st shift: Monday – Friday (4:00 AM - 2:00 PM)

2nd shift: Monday – Friday (1:45 PM - 11:45 PM)

Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime and/or weekends as needed

Ability to travel to different sites, as needed, up to 5%

Repetitive assembly operations, grasping, standing, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position

Must be able to lift to 25 lbs. unassisted

Ability to work in outdoor environments as needed

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Pay range:

Test Technician/Level 1: $23.00 - $27.00/hour

Test Technician/Level 2: $26.00 - $32.50/hour

Test Technician/Level 3: $31.00 - $38.00/hour

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job‑related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
