Partnerships to Uplift Communities (PUC) Schools is comprised of a non‑profit network of public charter schools designed to significantly increase high school graduation rates, college entrance, and college graduation rates for underserved students in North‑East Los Angeles, and the North‑East San Fernando Valley.

ABOUT PUC TRP The PUC Teacher Residency Program (TRP) is a partnership of local charter schools dedicated to uplifting PUC Schools' alumni, employees, and area community members to become California credentialed teachers through a year‑long residency program. Intensive mentoring supports, Loyola Marymount University certification coursework, and weekly implementation seminars prepare resident graduates to teach in today's diverse urban educational settings.

What you will need to accomplish:

Instruction and Classroom Management:

Organize and implement classroom procedures and manage student behavior to ensure all students are fully engaged in learning

Establish a culture of high expectations that includes college preparation for all students

Develop and implement lesson plans and classroom activities consistent with Common Core standards and PUC Teacher Residency Program (TRP) instructional guidelines

Assess students regularly under PUC guidelines, examine student assessment data, and refine classroom activities to differentiate instruction for each student

Collaborate closely with PUC team members (grade‑level, school‑wide, and across sites) to align curriculum across subjects, improve instructional practices, and share best practices

Track critical student information, and maintain accurate student records and attendance per PUC procedures

Professional Learning and Development:

Actively participate in school site specific professional development activities such as training sessions and working with the lead teacher, principal, and instructional coaches

Engage in Resident Seminars with the TRP Coordinator

Attend Loyola Marymount University's credentialing coursework classes and complete assignments in a timely manner

School Culture and Community Engagement:

Demonstrate knowledge of and support for PUC Schools' mission, vision меб value statements, standards, policies, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and code of ethical behavior

Provide students and their families with regular and timely information on classroom activities and student progress that involve parents/guardians in their students' education

Identify unique student needs and collaborate with other team members and outside service providers to diagnose and address learning challenges

Perform other related duties as required.

What do we require from you? Minimum Qualifications Multiplayer ವಾ Education:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required OR in process of a bachelor's degree with a conferral date of June 2026

Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher on the last 60 semesters or 90 quarter units required

Minimum of two California Subject Examination for Teachers (CSET) passed in the subject area you are applying for, OR confirmation that coursework meets eligibility requirements for Subject Matter Competency Requirement (SMCR) in the subject area applying for

Experience: Prior experience working with students in a learning environment is preferred.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Occasionally required to kneel, climb and reach with hands and arms above shoulder level, lift up to 30 pounds. To bend(mouse sit, stand, squat, stoop, walk, push, pull, and reach with hands and arms at shoulder level or below. Always required to wear the appropriate safety equipment for the task, which may include gloves, goggles, aprons, belts, etc.

This is a full‑time, hourly position
