DESCRIPTION The Nassau BOCES Department of Regional Schools and Instructional Programs is seeking Part‑time Adult Educators to support the Adult English as a Second Language program. Classes will be held on weekdays, evenings and Saturdays at the Adult Learning Center in Garden City.

Teaching beginner to advanced levels of English speaking, reading, and writing to adult learners

Maintaining accurate attendance records

Fulfilling 14 hours of New York State mandated professional development

REQUIREMENTS

New York State Education Department (NYSED) Certification in a K-12 Academic Area

NYSED Certification: Teaching English to Speakers of Other Language (TESOL), Literacy and Reading, and/or Bilingual extension is preferred

Prior experience as a classroom teacher

Ability to work weekdays, evenings and/or Saturdays

SALARY

– As per labor contract
