Job Description: Painter / Sheetrock Finisher – Maintenance Department
Location: Retirement Community (Primarily Indoor Environment)
Status: Full-Time
Salary: Dependent on Experience

Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Painter / Sheetrock Finisher to join our Maintenance Department within a retirement community setting. This position plays an important role in maintaining a pleasant, clean, and well‑maintained residential environment for our senior residents. Most work is performed indoors under safe, comfortable, and climate‑controlled conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Perform interior painting, texturing, patching, sanding, and surface preparation
Complete drywall and Sheetrock finishing including taping, mudding, and repair work
Repair minor interior wall damage (holes, cracks, scuffs, etc.)
Assist with turnover preparations for resident rooms and common areas
Ensure project areas are cleaned and restored to original condition upon completion
Work independently and efficiently while meeting quality standards and timelines
Communicate effectively with maintenance team, leadership, and residents when needed
Follow all safety procedures and facility policies
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in painting and drywall/Sheetrock finishing (required)
Strong knowledge of surface preparation, finishes, texture matching, and repair techniques
Ability to lift, carry, bend, and stand for extended periods as job tasks require
Strong attention to detail, neat workmanship, and pride in quality outcomes
Reliable, professional, and able to work respectfully around senior residents
Basic experience in general maintenance (preferred but not required)
Valid driver’s license (preferred)
Schedule & Work Environment
Primarily indoor work
Monday–Friday schedule with occasional flexibility as needed
Pleasant work environment within a community‑focused culture
