**Position Title:**Library Community Relations Administrative Assistant (PT)**Job Posting Closing Date:**01/21Provo City is looking for a part-time Community Relations Assistant to perform general office work, coordinate publicity, and assist with library marketing initiatives at the Provo Library.
This position supports the Community Relations Division for the Provo City Library. Qualified, civic-minded individuals are encouraged to apply.**Job Details**Pay Rate: $14.50 per hourPart-time Provo City employees are eligible to contribute to individual retirement savings plans through the City (401k, 457, Roth IRA, and/or Traditional IRA) and receive the following great benefits: a) free admission to the Provo Recreation Center, Peaks Ice Arena Public Skating, and Provo Shooting Sports Park; b) a free Provo City Library Card; c) a 25% discount on Provo Recreation Center memberships (direct family only); and d) discounts from various local and national vendors.* Perform general office work.* Coordinate publicity and assist with library marketing initiatives, including social media and email marketing.* Support pre-event setup and post-event clean up.* Operate standard office machines including computers, scanners, and cameras.* Perform community outreach.* Perform other job-related duties as required. * High school diploma or equivalent (GED)* Six months or more experience in communications and writing.* Computer skills (such as experience with MS Office).* Valid, lawful driver license* Preference may be given to applicants with some college education and/or experience working in book-related fields, event planning, graphic design, photography, public relations and/or marketing backgrounds are also encouraged to apply. 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday during typical office hours (9:00 am-5:00 pm). Occasional weekend and evening hours as required by the department.
This position requires standing at a counter or sitting at a desk for extended periods of time. May require shift work, extensive walking, driving, or light lifting of up to 30lbs. Work is generally inside with little or no occupational hazards present. Some positions may require exposure to high stress situations or environments, including, contact with the public in confrontational or uncomfortable circumstances. Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted, with the first screening being held on **January 22, 2026.** Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration. If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
