Job Summary
Assists in cardiovascular procedures in the Cardiac Cath and EP Lab by scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring under the supervision of the performing interventional cardiologist or electrophysiologist. Provides technical support in the diagnosis and treatment of heart and vascular disease.
Job Responsibilities
Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Cardiac Cath Lab or EP Lab principals/theory and utilizes the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures/treatments, as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results.
Develops appropriate procedure/treatment plan.
Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established hospital protocols/guidelines and according to current competencies and scope of practice.
Completes documentation as required to comply with hospital policies and procedures.
Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
Participates in hospital and departmental Performance Improvement activities to ensure that patient care is consistent with established standards.
Completes assigned goals.
Specifications Experience
Education
Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology Associate's degree or accredited school of Surgical Technology
Licensure BLS Certification within 14 DAYS of HIRE; ACLS certification or within 6 months of hire; NOTE: Only eligible for position for 18 months as RCIS/RCES certification for Cardiovascular Technologist required within 1 year of eligibility. CST certification required for Surgical Tech
