Position Summary
Ensure the efficient and effective cleaning of production equipment and adjacent areas, in addition to other environments, following approved sanitary methods.
Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the safe use of appropriate chemical solutions to ensure the cleanest and most highly sanitized equipment
Ensure that all necessary safety precautions are followed in performing your responsibilities
Responsible for following through on projects assigned
Cleans equipment by using hot water hoses and/or high pressure soap hoses with temperatures up to 160 degrees
Lifts, carries, pushes or pulls parts or equipment with weights up to 100# or more
Climbs ladders to clean spirals/equipment
Possibly forklift/palletjack/manlift licensed for certain areas
Tears equipment down and assists Production to put line back together
Works with soaps and other cleaning compounds, some toxic if not handled correctly
Temperatures throughout plant average 50 degrees
Requires to wear hairnet, smock, boots or overshoes, ear plugs, gloves, plastic sleeves, and aprons provided by the Company
Other duties as assigned
Employee Safety Responsibilities
Report all injuries, unsafe conditions, unsafe acts & horseplay
Use proper lifting techniques
Use mechanical assistance (handjack, forklift, manlift)
Use personal assistance (buddy)
Use handrails
Use and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
Position Qualifications
Prefer High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
May require a Forklift/Palletjack Certification
Ability to communicate effectively
