This position enhances student academic success, personal growth, and college readiness through individualized support during after-school tutoring sessions, monthly Saturday sessions, and other program activities as assigned.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:* Academic support and mentoring* Documentation and record keeping* Program support and events**Please note:** This position will work at Two Rivers High School and South St Paul High School.**Salary Range Clarification:**We would like to clarify that the correct salary range for the Higher Education Tutor position is $20.32 - $23.91/hour. We encourage you to reach out to our office if you have any questions.**Minimum Qualifications*** Ability to read and write English sufficient to understand and follow directions and maintain records and documentation.* Human relations skills sufficient to establish rapport with and provide direction to program participants.* Ability to provide remedial tutoring at an elementary or secondary level in academic areas, e.g. mathematics, writing, computer skills.**Preferred Qualification*** At least one year of experience working with high school students.* Knowledge of challenges facing first-generation and income-eligible students.* Familiarity with college entrance exams (ACT/SAT).* Experience with TRIO programs or personal experience as a first-generation, low-income student, or similar background.**Other Requirements*** Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods during tutoring sessions, Saturday sessions, and program events.* Frequent movement between classrooms, offices, and activity spaces in school and college settings.* Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying instructional materials, testing supplies, or light equipment (typically up to 25 pounds).* Ability to work in a variety of learning environments, including classrooms, libraries, computer labs, and event spaces.* Ability to communicate clearly in person, over the phone, and via electronic platforms.* Must be able to maintain visual and auditory attention to monitor student engagement and provide academic assistance.* Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.**Work Shift (Hours / Days of work)**This position will be work for an average of 5-10 hours a week during the academic year (September - June). Work hours may vary from week to week based on program event calendar.Afterschool program hours:* Monday/Wednesday: 3:00 - 5:00 PM at Two Rivers High School* Tuesday/Thursday: 2:30 - 4:30 PM at South St. Paul High School* Monthly Saturday Academies typically run 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM.
