Job Summary
The City of St. Peters is seeking an experienced and motivated Camp Director to oversee the planning, coordination, supervision, and administration of our recreational camp programs. This position plays a key role in delivering safe, engaging, and high-quality experiences for youth participants while providing strong leadership and support to camp staff. The Camp Director works under the general supervision of the Recreation Superintendent - Fitness & Athletics.
Normal Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Occasional schedule adjustments may be required, including early start times (as early as 7:00 a.m.) or evening hours (up to 6:30 p.m.) based on operational needs or events.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with staff recruitment, training, scheduling, supervision, and evaluation
Plan, coordinate, and supervise the daily operations of assigned camp programs
Develop, refine, and implement program goals, objectives, and curriculum in alignment with City policies

Develop and implement risk management procedures to ensure the safety of participants, staff, and equipment
Monitor equipment and supply inventory and recommend future purchases as needed

Support inclusive programming by mentoring staff inלח assisting individuals with disabilities
Assess and contribute to the development of marketing, advertising, and promotional materials

Ensure compliance with all City safety standards and perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully authorized to work in the United States
Bachelor's degree in a related field and two (2) years of applicable experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Prior work experience with children is required
Preferred Qualificationsáp
Previous customer service experience
Leadership and/or staff supervision experience
Experience developing and implementing new programs
Prior experience as a Camp Director, Assistant Camp Director, or Camp Lead
Experience with staff scheduling and supervision
First Aid and CPR certification
Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database software
