The Senior Construction Administrator is responsible for providing high-level support, coordination, and oversight for construction activities across transmission and distribution projects. This role ensures that project documentation, contractor compliance, scheduling, and construction workflows are executed accurately and efficiently. The Senior Construction Administrator acts as a key liaison between project management, engineering, field construction teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to support safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery of T&D infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities Project Coordination & Support

Manage day-to-day administration of T&D construction projects, including work order processing, contractor onboarding, schedule updates, and documentation control.

Support project managers, construction managers, and field supervisors with materials tracking, permitting needs, reporting, and issue resolution.

Maintain detailed project records, construction logs, RFIs, submittals, change orders, as-built documentation, and close-out packages.

Contractor & Stakeholder Management

Serve as administrative point of contact for contractors; ensure all compliance items (insurance, safety certifications, onboarding documents) are current.

Coordinate meetings, job walks, progress check-ins, and safety briefings with internal teams and external partners.

Assist with procurement activities, including issuing bid documents, tracking proposals, and supporting evaluation processes.

Document & Compliance Oversight

Ensure all construction documents comply with company standards, code requirements, and regulatory guidelines (PUC, DOT, OSHA, utility standards).

Track environmental, safety, and right-of-way documentation to support project readiness and auditing needs.

Maintain version control of engineering drawings, specifications, redlines, and updates throughout the project lifecycle.

Financial & Schedule Tracking

Support budget tracking by compiling invoices, timesheets, contractor pay apps, and verifying quantities against field progress.

Assist with schedule updates by collecting field progress data and ensuring alignment with project milestones.

Identify administrative risks and delays; elevate to project leadership as needed.

Field Support

Conduct periodic site visits to validate documentation, track progress, and ensure administrative alignment with field conditions.

Coordinate delivery and tracking of materials, equipment, and construction packages to job sites.

Qualifications Required

5–10+ years of experience in construction administration, project coordination, or project controls in a utility, EPC, or infrastructure environment.

Strong understanding of transmission & distribution construction processes (overhead lines, underground duct banks, substations, civil site work).

Proficiency with project management systems (e.g., Primavera, MS Project, SAP, SharePoint, Procore, or similar).

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PDF markup tools.

Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.

Preferred

Experience with utility permitting, environmental compliance, and right-of-way documentation.

Familiarity with NESC, OSHA, DOT, EPA, and state utility regulations.

Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering technology, business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
