Parraid is seeking an experienced
UI/UX Designer
to build modern design practices in an excellent engineering company. Our company has long developed ruggedized, functional, tactical products with mission focus as the chief priority. Focusing on growth and modernization, Parraid seeks to establish a user-centric design discipline in software product development.
In this role, you will be creating visual assets, establishing design pattern libraries, and guiding the team to use UI/UX best practices. You will collaborate with the product owner and engineering team in developing and defining product requirements. You’ll be joining a team of dedicated engineers and product managers to help design engaging and user-friendly interfaces for our applications.
We collaborate remotely with team members located coast-to-coast, leveraging agile methodologies.

Job Responsibilities:
Bootstrap modern design discipline at Parraid. Establish a design hub, pattern libraries, and implement a style guide to create visual consistency throughout the user experience
Iterate on the design process with stakeholders and engineering, incorporating feedback to refine prototypes and ensure they meet project requirements
Conduct user research in an environment where users are sporadically available. Interpolate user desires and get creative
Translate requirements into user personas and journey maps to guide the design process
Design visually appealing and engaging user interfaces with intuitive workflows
Collaborate with product stakeholders to define requirements, establish acceptance criteria, and create detailed implementation specifications
Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to effectively communicate ideas and concepts
Create high-quality image assets, including icons, buttons, and other UI elements
Optimize assets and interfaces with consideration for desktop and mobile, as well as various screen sizes to ensure a seamless user experience across all devices
Craft designs with a holistic consideration for the product's future and other company products
Write clear and concise copy, establishing consistent tone and messaging
Required Skills / Qualifications:
2+ years of professional experience in User Interface and User Experience design
Experience with applicable accessibility standards (e.g., Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and/or Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG))
A portfolio showcasing strong UI/UX skills with pleasant and functional end-to-end experiences that demonstrate critical thinking
Proficiency in modern design tools (e.g. Figma)
Experience building reusable component-based UI design systems
Experience developing responsive GUIs using touch-based interfacesStrong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies
Ability to identify UI/UX shortcomings and develop strategies for incremental changes
Presence and open-minded collaboration in a remote environment
Ability to demonstrate and present products to clients and solicit their feedback to understand customer needs
