WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Youth Engagement Coach is a non-exempt position providing in-person crisis response and ongoing support to adults, youth and their families who are experiencing legal involvement. Clients have significant behavioral and emotional difficulties, requiring extensive support and individualized services to reduce recidivism with legal involvement, overcome systemic barriers and successfully connect and engage in wrap-around services. The Youth Engagement Coach may provide engagement, counseling, referral, and linkage to formal/ informal resources to prevent ongoing crisis and support law enforcement in efforts to reduce the number of officers deployed to non‑emergency situations and reduce client recidivism.
Provide an in-person response to active 911 calls, including adults, youth and their families, and their formal/informal support network with law enforcement.
Assess client’s level of risk to self, others and their ability to care for themselves.
Provide information, referral and follow-up for appropriate ancillary community counseling, psychiatric services, financial, employment, parenting, housing, and other services as deemed appropriate to meet youth and family needs.
Respond to referrals and link clients and their families to appropriate services as needed.
Coordinate with client and community providers to ensure client needs are met.
Transport clients and their family to hospitals, shelters, doctor’s appointments and other community settings.
Perform all other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
Bachelor’s Degree in a human services or related field.
Previous experience in youth-related services, crisis intervention, mental health, or substance abuse is preferred.
Ability to work in a stressful environment under sometimes difficult client situations, including potential exposure to clients who may be verbally and/or physically aggressive.
Knowledge of community resources.
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite or related software and Electronic Health Records.
Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
Must obtain/maintain CPR and First‑Aid certifications.
As a requirement of this position, the ability to use personal car to transport clients is needed.
Must have a valid drivers’ license with proof auto insurance coverage.
