Inova Fairfax Hospital Advanced Disease and Lung Transplant program is seeking an Advanced Lung Disease and Transplant fellow for the 2026-2027 academic year. Based in the Washington DC area, this program encompasses a Medicare approved Lung Transplant Program, PHA-accredited Comprehensive Care Pulmonary Vascular Disease Center, CFF-accredited Cystic Fibrosis Center and an PFF-accredited Interstitial Lung Disease Center. A board certified/board eligible PGY-7 pulmonary/critical care physician will have unique and expert training in a variety of advanced lung diseases including ILD, PH, CF and COPD. Fellows will also receive training in the evaluation and management of advanced lung diseases, lung donors, transplant candidates and lung transplant recipients. In addition, a number of elective opportunities are available including ECMO, adult congenital heart diseases, hands on hemodynamic assessment of PH patients, ILD and lung transplant pathology as well as interventional pulmonary evaluation and management of complex airway issues post-transplantation. In addition to clinical responsibilities, there are multiple opportunities for clinical research, as well as teaching of medical students, residents and pulmonary/critical care fellows.
