Full-Time, Rock Solid Benefits
Ready to work where the job description includes
boats, fire trucks, and heavy-duty construction beasts ? Lake Havasu City is looking for a versatile, skilled mechanic who wants a challenging and rewarding career, not just another job. We maintain the machinery that keeps our beautiful waterfront city running smoothly. If you love variety, problem-solving, and getting your hands dirty with purpose, this is the gig for you! Why You'll Love This Job:
Epic Variety:
One day you're diagnosing a complex fire apparatus, the next you're wrenching on a city work boat or a hefty loader. This is not a cookie-cutter bay shop! Tangible Impact:
You'll see the direct result of your hard work ensuring the safety and operational readiness of critical city equipment. Great Benefits:
Enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and participation in the Arizona State Retirement System. Professional Growth:
We value expertise! ASE and EVT certifications are highly preferred, and we offer an educational reimbursement program to help you grow. Your Mission:
Perform critical safety inspections and maintenance on a huge fleet: medium/heavy-duty vehicles, construction equipment, fire apparatus, marine equipment, and light-duty trucks. Become a diagnostics wizard, tackling complex electrical systems and electronic components with cutting-edge tools. Master record-keeping to track mileage, parts, and work performed. Operate everything from forklifts to specialized diagnostic gear in a busy, safety-first shop environment. What You'll Need to Bring:
The Basics:
A High School diploma/GED and solid experience as a skilled mechanic on a wide range of vehicles. The Hardware:
A valid
Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) with a tanker endorsement
and a nationally recognized
Forklift Certification
are required at hire. The Drive:
Ability to diagnose tough problems, work effectively with a team, and maintain safety standards in a shop environment. Why join our team? You will be a pivotal member of a dedicated and collaborative Public Works team. This is a chance to apply your technical skills in a dynamic environment where your work directly contributes to the community's growth and well-being.
