Whether you work directly with patients or behind the scenes in support of the business and its employees, you will use your expertise, experience, and skills to support our patients and our mission.# # # SummaryUnder the general supervision of Management, the **B****illing Specialist** is responsible for assisting the billing team in ensuring accurate billing, timely submission of electronic and/or paper claims, solving for unique billing requirements, resolving claims due to billing requirements, and documenting related account activities.
Ensure that all billing is done promptly and meets month-end expectations.# Essential Duties and Responsibilities**Other duties may be assigned, as necessary.**Maintain current knowledge of departmental and organizational policies. Support billing staff in training and ongoing education when requiredAdheres to the Company’s compliance requirements as stated in the policy and procedure manual and all other related policies.Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned# Qualification Requirements* Provide the highest level of professionalism, responsiveness, and communication.* Must possess the ability to multi-task and frequently change direction.* Proficient in the use of a computer and other devices.# Education and/or Experience* High school diploma or GED* Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.* Basic math, bookkeeping, and accounting skills* 1-3 years of experience in medical billing.* Understanding of industry-specific policies, such as HIPAA regulations for healthcare**Physical Demands**The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
