Core Trading Systems Engineer - Remote in USA
Talent Search PRO, New York, New York, us, 10261
Job Description
The trading platform is the product. We’re looking for an engineer who has
built, operated, and scaled real trading systems in production —not just APIs around them.
This role focuses on keeping
live trading and market data infrastructure fast, stable, and observable , while continuously improving performance. The work directly impacts
latency, uptime, and execution quality .
You’ll work closely with backend engineers, traders, and quants to deploy, benchmark, and tune matching engines, market data pipelines, and exchange services. When something breaks—or even slows down—you know
where to look, what matters, and how to fix it quickly .
What You’ll Be Doing
Owning and optimizing live trading and market data systems
Designing monitoring, alerting, and observability tools to catch issues early
Deploying and tuning low-latency services such as matching engines and market data feeds
Managing and troubleshooting exchange incidents, latency spikes, and production issues in real time
Collaborating with traders, quants, and product teams to ensure high availability
Contributing to system-level design around performance, reliability, and disaster recovery
Building and maintaining APIs, microservices, and CI/CD pipelines that support trading operations
Must-Haves
4+ years of experience in
systems, backend, or trading infrastructure engineering
Direct experience working on
live trading systems, exchanges, or real-time financial platforms
Strong programming skills in
Go, Rust, or C++
Deep understanding of
networking, distributed systems, and low-latency performance optimization
Hands‑on experience with
market data distribution, order management, and execution systems
Strong production mindset with observability tools such as
Prometheus, Grafana, ELK , or similar
Experience operating infrastructure in
AWS, GCP, or bare‑metal environments
This role is best suited for engineers who have worked
inside high-performance trading environments , not just adjacent fintech systems.
Nice-to-Haves
Knowledge of
FIX, WebSocket, and REST protocols
Experience with
Kubernetes, Terraform, or large-scale container orchestration
Background in
HFT, derivatives, perpetuals, or crypto‑native trading systems
Contributions to open‑source trading or infrastructure projects
What This Role Is (and Isn’t)
✅ A core trading infrastructure role working on live production systems
✅ Deep exposure to low‑latency, high‑throughput environments
❌ Not a short-term contract or primarily self‑employed role
❌ Not an API‑only, fintech‑adjacent, or government‑focused position
❌ Not a research‑only or non‑trading platform role
