Your day-to-day: In this role, you will perform all Relationship Specialist duties while serving as a leader and resource for the branch team. You will manage daily account transactions and maintenance, including deposits, loan payments, transfers, cash advances, withdrawals, cash balancing, and vault transactions. You’ll open and maintain all types of deposit accounts—including business accounts—process check orders, issue temporary checks, and support plastic card services such as issuing temporary cards, re‑PINing existing cards, and ordering new cards.
You’ll play a key role in supporting the branch’s sales success by actively cross‑selling products, generating referrals, and coaching Relationship Specialist staff to meet referral expectations. This includes leading morning sales huddles, facilitating end‑of‑day sales debriefs, and helping ensure individual and team sales goals are achieved. You will also assist with scheduling, approvals, overrides, signature guarantees, and ordering cash and coin as needed.
Operational excellence is central to this position. You will complete daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly operational, transactional, and fraud audits, submitting final reports to branch management. You’ll be responsible for opening and closing the branch when needed, disbursing cash at opening, balancing drawers at closing, completing required compliance and credit union training, and maintaining accurate records and systems using the Branch Team Lead Checklist.
As a trusted leader, you’ll support the development of Relationship Specialist staff by providing input on hiring, performance evaluations, advancement, and corrective action to the Branch Sales Manager. You’ll participate in special projects, support continuous improvement initiatives, and consistently represent the Credit Union positively and professionally. Throughout all responsibilities, you’ll maintain strict confidentiality, treat members and coworkers with respect, and uphold the highest standards of service and integrity.
You need:
Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in sales and/or operations.
Minimum of 18 months of Lead Teller experience.
Strong knowledge of cash handling and negotiable items.
Working knowledge of BSA, Regulation CC, D, E, and other applicable regulations.
Comprehensive knowledge of all deposit and loan products and services.
Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and NCUA regulations.
Demonstrated ability to operate office equipment, including 10‑key and PC.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Proven record of accurate cash balancing.
Excellent verbal and written communication, problem‑solving, member service, and organizational skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, guidance, and collaborate effectively within a diverse team.
Professional demeanor and presentation.
Computer literate, including proficiency with Outlook.
Ability to compute interest on savings, loans, and certificates.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage frequent interruptions.
Demonstrated sound judgment related to check holds, member concerns, basic employee issues, and scheduling conflicts.
Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
Preferred:
Minimum 2 years of Relationship Specialist Experience or equivalent financial institution experience
