Basic Function The Refrigeration Mechanic (Air Conditioning) will perform skilled work in the installation, inspection, repair, and maintenance of air conditioning machinery and equipment.

Salary:

Positions 20 hours per week or greater qualify for District‑paid health and wellnessď benefits for the employee and their eligible dependents.
Vacancies that require the incumbent to be bilingual in English/Spanish will be noted. Candidates considered for positions that require bilingual skills will be invited to a Performance Test (Qualifying Only) for oral and written fluency. Bilingual positions qualify for a 5% bilingual differential.

Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience:
Any combination of training, education, and/or experience equivalent to completion of a recognized air‑conditioner mechanic training program. Two years of directly related experience may be substituted for the training requirement.

Licenses and Other Requirements
Possession of a valid California driver’s license and availability of private transportation (mileage expense allowance provided).
Possession of a valid Classified II Environmental Protection Agency certificate for handling chlorofluorocarbons (C.F.C.).
Possession of hand tools common to the trade.
