Assistant Superintendent

As an Assistant Superintendent, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Superintendent in overseeing the maintenance and operation of the golf course or grounds. You will assist in managing the daily activities of the maintenance staff, ensuring that all tasks related to course upkeep, landscaping, and equipment maintenance are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. Additionally, you will help develop and implement turf management programs, irrigation schedules, and pest control strategies to maintain the course in optimal playing condition. Collaborating closely with the Superintendent, you will participate in budget planning, staff training, and safety compliance initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in turfgrass management or a related field, with experience in golf course maintenance and supervisory responsibilities. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential for this role, as you will be working closely with the maintenance team, golf course staff, and external vendors. Bachelor's degree in Turfgrass Management or related field Minimum of 3 years of experience in golf course maintenance Previous supervisory experience preferred Knowledge of turf management practices and irrigation systems Strong communication and leadership skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Familiarity with budget management and scheduling Pesticide applicator license or the ability to obtain one Passion for golf and commitment to course excellence
