Summary
responsible for overseeing all aspects of facility operations of a licensed childcare center, ensuring the health and safety of children and staff at all times. Duties include ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, implementation and oversight of policy and procedures, supervision and training of staff, ordering and maintaining inventory of supplies, and communicating with parents.
Education and/or Experience
Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field; Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
Supervisory experience, preferably in a licensed childcare center.
Two years of classroom teaching experience with children under five years of age preferred.
Understanding of early childhood education, child health, mental health, and familiarity with the fields of disabilities services and parent engagement.
Familiarity with community resources.
Knowledge of all state and federal regulations and licensing standards.
Must pass all pre-employment contingencies, including criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen.
Valid Texas driver’s license
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Outlook.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Maintains Level II Background Clearance and Adult and Pediatric CPR-First Aid Certification.
CLASS Observer Reliability Certification
30 Hours of Mandatory Childcare Training
Maintains Director Credential
Maintains of valid Driver’s License and/or regular access to reliable transportation; maintenance of required Texas motor vehicle insurance
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain a clean, safe, healthy, compliant, and welcoming licensed Head Start/Early Head Start center.
Establish and maintain a high-quality early childhood program.
Supervise classroom and custodial staff.
Assist with recruitment and interviewing of new staff.
Assist with recruitment of families for enrollment of their children.
Manage supply orders and inventories
Oversee the educational program, including teacher-child interaction, classroom management, and instruction
Assist staff in communicating with parents and children
Provide regular staff and parent meetings and professional development opportunities for staff
Establish center operational procedures and communicate them to staff and parents
